WHY TENNIS?

There are countless articles listing the mental and physical benefits of playing tennis.

In summary, here are just a few…

Increases life expectancy •Increases self confidence • Increases self esteem • Increases aerobic capacity

Lowers resting heart rate • Lowers blood pressure • Improves metabolic function

Increases bone density • Lowers body fat • Improves muscle tone

Improves strength • Improves flexibility • Increases reaction time

Improves critical thinking • Improves mental alertness • Improves tactical thinking

Improves sleep cycle • Improves emotional state • Lowers stress

Enhances happiness • Strengthens social network

Tennis is a sport you can play your entire life, and it doesn't have to be expensive.  In Upper Arlington, we have 39 top notch public tennis courts which are either free or low cost.  We encourage you to visit Northam Park Tennis Center (12 clay courts, low membership fee) or Upper Arlington High School (10 hard courts, free).  Other free public hard courts can be found at Thompson Park (4), Fancyburg Park (4), Sunny 95 Park (1), as well as Jones Middle School (4) and Hastings Middle School (4).

If nothing else, tennis is just plain fun!
